Russia Foreign Trade Activity in 2018

According to the information, provided Federal Customs Service, Russia foreign trade turnover in 2018 increased by 17.6% as compared to 2017 and reached $692.6 billion of which 65.3% was export and 34.7% – import.

Russia Trade Partners in 2018

Mostly, Russia carried on trade activity with the European Union countries, whose share in the Russia foreign trade turnover made 42.7%, with ATEC – 31%, with CIS – 11.7% and EEU – 8.1%. Among countries, the key partners in 2018 were: China with share of 15.7%, Germany – 8.7%, Netherlands – 6.9%, Belarus – 4.9%, Italy – 3.9%, Turkey – 3.7%, Republic of Korea – 3.6%, United States – 3.6%, Poland – 3.2% and Japan – 3.1%.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation on social and economic development in Russia until 2024, in 2019 GDP is projected at a rate of 1.3%, which is less than in 2018, but with subsequent growth to 2% in 2020 and higher than 3% starting from 2021.
