Overview of Russian Imports from NON-CIS Countries in December and 2018 as a whole

According to preliminary data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, import from non-CIS countries to Russia amounted to $ 18 992.6 million, which is 4.9% more than in the last month, but 8.3% less than for the same period last year.

Goods imported from non-CIS states can be divided into 4 groups: foodstuffs and raw materials for their production, chemical products, machine-building products, textiles and footwear.

Since the beginning of the year, in the period from January to December 2018, volume of Russian import from non-CIS countries amounted to $ 212 billion, which is 4.6% more than in 2017.  

Non-CIS countries include countries of the European Union; they account for more than 40% of total Russian imports, countries of the Asia-Pacific region – more than 30% and the Eurasian Economic Union – a little more than 8%. The leaders in terms of products exported to Russia are China, Germany and the Netherlands.
